Further south along the bay from St Kilda is the upmarket suburb of Brighton, Brighton Beach and its famed sweep of colorful beach huts. Its quite an exclusive place, the more so because there is virtually no development on the beach front aimed at tourists – simply upmarket homes and one or two boutique hotels. But 5 minutes walk from the front is Bay Street and a great selection of restaurants and cafes. But most head to the beach and the sweep of colorful huts, where, on a sunny day, the colors stand out against blue skies, blue sea and the yellow sands.Getting to brighton is also fairly easy – the Sandringham line from Flinders Street station will get you there in about 20 minutes.
